Healthy facilities information system was actively introduced in the beginning of 2003 in the City of Helsinki. Earlier it took, in the worst case, a week to collect information from papers for different officials. Today the Healthy facilities information system makes it possible to a summary fast and effortlessly with only a few search criteria. The experiences in using the system have been positive. From the beginning of 2008 the Healthy Facilities system was joined as part of the FacilityInfo packet in the maintenance schedule system used by the City of Helsinki. Sari Hildén uses the information system daily. According to Hildén one of the benefits is that the consultants register the research results they have received directly into the system, which takes care of the filing and makes the work control easier. The information of the various research is available in a uniform way in spite of the one doing the research since the consultants register the information in the fields in an agreed upon format.
The Healthy facilities information system is used in 313 target facilities in the City of Helsinki. In the target facilities there have been over 600 different researches, so the number of documents is enormous. Searching for information through the Healthy facilities system is fast and easy.
